This five-piece formed in 2009 and began to play shows together throughout Brisbane and Sydney. Since then, Oh Ye Denver Birds have been fortunate to grace the stage with the likes of Akron Family (USA), Castanets (USA), Leader Cheetah, Cloud Control and friends John Steel Singers. With a focus on exploration, the band work towards a live show that is always evolving and their current progress sees them existing somewhere in the realms of Brian Wilson and Mogwai.
Oh Ye Denver Birds are inspired by everything that surrounds them and draw on influences ranging from Yeasayer to Portishead, and Beach House to Crosby, Stills and Nash. Their first single ‘Walls’ captures the atmospheric and organic nature of the band’s development and is their first track recorded in the studio. A change from their preferred DIY bedroom recordings, ‘Walls’ represents the beginning of what is to be an exciting year ahead as Oh Ye Denver Birds prepare to record their debut EP later this year.
